SILC guarantees the highest quality of teacher in the UK dance industry. All instructors have completed a stringent and challenging series of courses and examinations with our qualified Dance Education Consultant. Fewer than 20% of applicants are successful in progressing to the training stage, and even fewer to the qualification stage, as the selection process ensures only the finest standard of both dancer and instructor.

After an initial Foundation Course, further Progressive Course and a final Developmental Level choreographic training, all teachers are finally examined and graded on their abilities.

SILC was co founded between 3 dancers, teachers and choreographers; Charlie Brownlee, Kieran Moore and Tim Sant.

Charlie Brownlee

Charlie Brownlee has a background in Classical Ballet, Ballroom and Latin disciplines and started dancing and teaching on the Jive weekender circuit 7 years ago. A very established and popular instructor in the East Anglia region, Charlie started to develop a passion for the slower, smoother and more expressive genres of music that were popular in the 'second' room of freestyles and weekenders.

Because Charlie herself found dancing to slower tempo accompaniment a challenge, she developed a passion for constructing unique workshop ideas for her dancers that helped to elucidate the genre and share the very skills  which she found to be successful in her own experience.

Having trialled SILC at various dance weekenders across the country, she is excited that the new syllabus is creating a real appetite for the smoother genre of dance, and eager to continue finding innovative teaching methods for dancers of all abilities. Her creative flair, combined with her faultless dance connection and enviably organic styling, make Charlie the best ambassador for the SILC syllabus.

Kieran Moore

Kieran Moore is a Ceroc and West Coast Swing aficionado, teaching both disciplines and walking away with Advanced and Open Newcomer Championship Gold Medals respectively in each discipline. His dance technique is recognised as one of the most proficient and stylish on the entire dancing circuit and his classes are some of the most popular in the country.

As well as this, Kieran has a strong passion for music and regularly DJs at both national and international dance events. His penchant for all genres and his second-to-none grasp of musical interpretation makes him one of the perfect figureheads for the SILC syllabus.

Having developed the "Effortless Style" brand of workshops in 2012, Kieran has been the main contributor in the progression of an innovate, smooth, musicality focussed dance, and today invests all of his knowledge into the SILC repertoire.

Tim Sant

With a background in solo Classical and Contemporary dance disciplines, Tim Sant turned his full attentions to the partner dancing scene once he graduated from his dance teaching qualification in 2011. He is a full time teacher and events organiser however his job is primarily concerned with movement choreography and the teacher training.

Tim was a self confessed 'imposter' at dance events that played a slower tempo accompaniment. He loved the sounds of smooth, contemporary, lyrical music, however he was never taught how to dance to these particular tracks and therefore struggled. Through observation and trial and error however, Tim developed his own unique repertoire of dance and his confidence started to blossom. He started teaching "Chillout Room for Dummies" classes in London, helping students who, like him, had never received any direction in this field of dance.

Today Tim is as confident is the slow room as he is the fast, and he is renowned for his innovative styling and polished technique. His vast experience in the world education has helped to scaffold the SILC syllabus, making it both achievable and progressive for all abilities and experiences.
